Distinguished artist Arup Kumar Mondal, born in the District Of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, did his Diploma in Visual Arts (5 years) from Indian college of Arts and Draftsmanship in 1995. He has also completed a Short Course in Museum Studies from Indian Museums, Calcutta in 2000.
As a born artist Arup Mondal has a flair in drawing, painting and graphics, though he has excelled in mixed media which is his fort. He has participated with different painter groups in several exhibitions all over the jcountry. To :mention a few of the exhibitions where Arup Mondal exhibited his paintings and aroused, immense enthusiasm among art -watchers are Annual Exhibition — Annual Exhibition of Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata 1998, Annual Open- Air Exhibition Organized by ART-AGE of Kolkata from 1990 to 2011, Annual Exhibition of West Bengal State are & Craft, Kolkata 1991 , Group Exhibition of "Atul Smriti Sarnity" Portblair, ANDAMAN, in 2011, TRIO Exhibition At "Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad", Bangalore, in 201 and "Brushstrokes and Imagination" at Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata in 2013 along with a group of eminent artists from India and Bangladesh.
